HOUSING MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes:
-- Knowledge of the fundamental principles, techniques and methodology of pertaining to the planning, scheduling, coordination, operation and efficient use of government owned dormitory facilities and furnishings --General knowledge of methods and procedures involved in determining acceptable work performance in various crafts and trades associated with the repair, maintenance, or improvement of facilities, equipment, furnishings, and other housing assets -- Knowledge of and skill in performing regular or periodic reviews or inspections of local dormitory units concerning a variety of major activities. Ability to evaluate the adequacy of such practices and prepare reports and recommendations concerning the improvement or correction of deficient project activities --Knowledge of Air Force housing audit or survey requirements and procedures and skill in performing regular or periodic reviews of local housing management operations --Basic knowledge and skill in computer data entry, retrieval, and storage of information into a computer system. A qualified typist is-not required -- Ability to perform various standard housing management functions such as periodic housing requirement surveys, joint resident/management inspections, recommending improvement projects, and reviewing or certifying payment claims for work or services provided OR Education:
1 full year of graduate level educationorsuperior academic achievement. NOTE:

You must submit a copy of your transcripts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in- grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE:
Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of Air Force, MAJCOM, and base lodging management principles and practices. 2. Knowledge of general contracting provisions, sufficient to prevent illegal or unauthorized commitment of government funds. 3. Knowledge of personnel management policies, practices, and procedures, the ability to change program or production requirements within available resources and with minimum sacrifice of quantity or quality of work; and the ability to establish program objectives or performance goals and assess progress toward their achievement. 4. Knowledge of appropriated funding policies and procedures and the skill in developing recommendations for justifications for lodging resources. 5. Skill in conducting audits or studies, evaluating the results, determining the feasibility of necessary repairs and/or improvements, and scheduling/coordinating corrective actions. 6. Ability to interpret and apply agency policies and directives and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of individuals, both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID

Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
