HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY/OA)

In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. GENERAL
Experience:
Applicants must have one year of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates my ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled, such as, knowledge of standardized body military personnel rules, procedures, and program operations to perform or explain a range of procedures and requirements in support of the military personnel testing program. Must have successfully completed two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE:

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE:

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the military personnel regulations and procedures relating to transactions processed. 2. Knowledge of military organizational structure, protocol, and similar matters. 3. Knowledge of rules, procedures, or operations applied to clerical assignments to perform the routine, procedural work of the office, such as preparing and editing documents, maintaining files/records, screen telephone calls and visitors. 4. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs. 5. Skill in typing; a qualified typist is required. 6. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. 7. Ability to plan, organize work and meet deadlines. PART-TIME OR UNPAID
Experience:
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK
Experience:
Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
